Please arrange your own personal insurance to cover all eventualities, the walking festival holds public liability insurance. Participants in Tomintoul and Glenlivet Walking Festival take part at their own risk.

Dogs / guide dogs are allowed on the walks, please contact us about this.

Please bring full hill walking/ cycling equipment; rucksack, sandwich / drink containers, layers of clothing, hat, gloves, boots, waterproofs. Optional gaiters, walking poles. It is important to be prepared for a range of weather.

You will need a packed lunch on each day, we will arrange these if ordered one day in advance. You will need to provide extra drinks.

This is essential and transport is included in the cost. Please note on the most strenuous walks there will be a limit to the number of people in each group. Please don’t forget our evening programme, the social events are an important part of the festival.

The nearest railway station is in Aviemore. We can arrange collection from Aviemore Train Station or other local points. Inverness has the nearest airport.
Tomintoul is to be found on the A939. From the south leave the A9 at Aviemore, take the A95 to Grantown on Spey and the A939 to Tomintoul. From the south via Braemar and Deeside, leave the A93 at Crathie, take B976 to Bridge of Gairn then A939 over the Lecht Pass to Tomintoul. From the north via Elgin, follow the A941 to Craigellachie, take the A95 one mile south of Marypark then branch left on the B9008 to Tomintoul.

Parking within the village is very good, however, there is no Petrol station within the village, the nearest being 13 miles away.
